Ok, I LOVE flats and I love sparkles...so what could be more fun than sparkly flats? Um, extremely cheap sparkly shoes. Yup, I made my own! So here is what I used, a pair of flats that I bought last summer for five bucks at Payless, Mod podge glue( or a DIY version Elmers and water) and glitter of your choice.
I had seen several tutorials and chose to try one that included mixing the glue and glitter and then 'painting' your shoes with the mixtures. After doing this and allowing it to dry I realized the 1) It was going to take A LOT of coats to cover my shoes, 2) They were lumpy & 3) They were not nearly sparkly enough for my liking. So attempt number two.
I decided an easier route would be to paint the entire shoe with mod podge and then when it was fully coated pour the sparkles over the entire shoe. This gave me the look I was going for as well as covered all the color of the shoe and now I have sparkly flats.
After the glue and sparkles dry I would suggest spraying the shoes with a clear glaze spray paint to lock in all those sparkles...I'm sure I will lose some sparkles but that is easy to repair :)
